Sports Update 2/18/2021

Athletic update 2-18-21:

For weeks now high school boys and girls have been training on campus.  Sport specific practice for football began on Feb. 8th.  If risk conditions improve by Feb. 22nd volleyball will begin practicing for a volleyball season.  Currently Lane County is in the extreme zone, which precludes sport specific practice for volleyball.  Information about the COVID restrictions can be found on the OSAA website, www.osaa.org.

Updated volleyball and football schedules are located on the OSAA website: https://www.osaa.org/teams/36599 and https://www.osaa.org/teams/36943

Because of the county risk level we are not allowed to have spectators for football and volleyball.  As risk levels drop we’ll be able to add spectators back gradually.  Current risk levels can be found on the OSAA website.  The current guidance:  https://sharedsystems.dhsoha.state.or.us/DHSForms/Served/le3461.pdf.  We are working to livestream home games for both football and volleyball.  Stay tuned.

Because of low turnout we will not be sponsoring cross country this year.  We hope to once again sponsor the sport next Fall as normal, provided students participate.

Students interested in football and volleyball are encouraged to participate.  Please contact Tony Wynn, 541-925 3262 if interested.

Go Lakers!
