Sports Update 11/3/2020

Hello students and parents,

Students please share this communication with your parents.

Good news: sports training will start on campus on Monday 11/9/20.  For the time being the high school boys workouts will be an all sport friendly training format on the football field.  As we progress our hope is to incorporate weight training into training regime.  At this time the girls workouts will be sport specific to basketball.  In the future we hope to add volleyball and boys basketball training as well.

Workouts* will be as follows: 

Monday  11-9-20 

5:30-7:00PM

Tuesday   Wednesday   Thursday   Friday
High School Boys-All athletes High School Boys-All athletes– 5:30- 7:00 High School Boys-All athletes– 5:30-7:00
High School Girls B-Ball–  6:30-8:00 High School Girls B-Ball– 6:30-8:00

*Please dress appropriately for the weather.  The boys will be outside for the duration of the workout.   Girls will be in the gym during workouts. Entry and exit to the facility will be facilitated by the coaches.

Joshua Jetton (new football coach) will run the boys workouts.  Jayme Dumford will run the girls basketball workouts.

In order to participate in campus workouts all students must:

*have an up to date physical (every two years).

*participate in a Zoom meeting on Thursday Nov. 5th @ 6:30– see details below

*own and wear a face mask before, during and after workouts

*complete COVID-19 liability waiver; signed by student and parents prior to first workout

*participate in basic screening prior to each workout:  temperature reading and health questions

*remain in automobile prior to start of workouts (ride sharing pods can remain together) until coach starts workouts.  Proper spacing of 6′ required at point of entry and during workouts and upon exiting facility.

*parents/drivers who transport should remain in their vehicles during workouts

*not congregate prior to and after workouts

*provide own water bottles, and no sharing of containers

Please be advised that locker rooms will not be accessible during workouts.  Transportation may be provided in the future, but at this time it is up to students to get to and from campus.
