Bargaining Update 11/12/20

Lane County School District Number 90 (District) and the Oregon School Employees Association Chapter 99 (Association) met on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. via zoom to continue negotiations on the reopening of articles VII, Salary and Compensation and IX, Insurance and Health Benefits, of the 2019- 2022 collective bargaining agreement.

The parties discussed the District’s proposal from the October 20, 2020 meeting and the options of negotiating a one year agreement with a reopener for the 2021-2022 year, or a two year agreement covering both the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 years.

The parties did not reach agreement on any Articles.

The District continues to face economic unknowns due the COVID pandemic and the financial impact due the passage of ballot measure 110. We continue to strive towards meeting our goal of compensating employees fairly while budgeting wisely to provide the best education possible for our students.

The parties are reviewing schedules and will provide an update for the next scheduled bargaining session.
